As a teaching volunteer in government and community-run schools in Dharamshala, there are many ways you can contribute to the education of children. Here are some volunteer activities you may be involved in:
Teaching: You will have the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects to students ranging from elementary to high school level. You may teach English, math, science, social studies, or any other subjects in that you have expertise.
Lesson planning:You can work with local teachers to develop lesson plans and create teaching materials that are effective and engaging for the students.
Classroom management: You can assist teachers in maintaining classroom discipline and orderliness.
Extra-curricular activities: You can organize and lead extra-curricular activities for students such as sports, music, dance, art, or drama.
English conversation practice: You can conduct conversational English practice sessions with students to help improve their English speaking and listening skills.
Individual tutoring:You can provide one-on-one tutoring sessions for students who need additional help in their studies.
Teacher training: You can help train and support local teachers in teaching methodologies, classroom management, and other teaching-related skills.
1. Minimum age
The minimum age to apply for a volunteer project is 18 years.
2. Minor Participants (If you are below 18 years)
In case you are a minor and would like to create an impact on the global
communities, we
need to receive a "No Objection Certificate" signed by your parents. (Please send
the
NOC through an email after submitting the application form, in case you are a
minor.)
3. Guarantee of Participation
Submitting an application form does not guarantee your selection and participation
in
the project.
4. The volunteers have to follow the code of conduct in the destination country and projects.
5. The local team is responsible for the management of pick-ups, housing, weekend excursions, safety, and well-being of the volunteers, we encourage the trust-building between the volunteers and the local management.
6. You will be working as a representative of your own country and we would highly appreciate it if you leave a very positive impact on the community you work with.
